We are seeking a Head of Technology to lead the development of Atierra’s open-source climate platform. This part-time, remote role is designed for a highly skilled and motivated individual with hands-on technical expertise in building scalable, collaborative, secure digital platforms, and strategic leadership, with a passion for climate action and collaborative innovation.

We Are Looking For
A Head of Technology to take on the following key responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead the design and development of Atierra's scalable, reliable, and user-centric open-source platform.
Platform Development: Manage system databases, backend and frontend architectures, develop APIs for third-party integration, and ensure robust security and data privacy compliance.
Operations: Establish DevOps best practices, oversee infrastructure and version control, and ensure optimal platform performance with proactive issue resolution.
Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical liaison, communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate closely with the co-founder through weekly meetings.
Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies and design creative solutions to enhance functionality, user engagement, and climate action reporting.
Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience in open-source projects and building scalable platforms.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, and Node.js.

Expertise in backend frameworks like Django, Flask, Express.js, or Spring Boot.

Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as version control tools like Git.

Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and DevOps principles.

Strong communication (spoken & written English), adaptability, and teamwork skills.

Experience founding or working in startups.

Commitment to learning new tools and technologies quickly.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

Knowledge of Data Analytics and Machine Learning.

Understanding of business operations and revenue models.
